Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead full lifecycle development for ground and airborne systems within Mission Systems. You will oversee CONOPS through Validation and act as a Subject Matter Expert in your discipline.

The role requires active SECRET clearance, U.S. citizenship, and 8+ years of relevant experience (or 5+ with an advanced degree). Onsite in Marlborough, MA, with strong integration and test capabilities and EVMS familiarity.

Qualifications

• Strong integration and test experience including test procedure development, test execution, test reporting, and test automation.
• Knowledge of or application of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
• Proficient in tooling to include Microsoft products, or tasking boards (Jira, IBM EWM, etc.).
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of full lifecycle solutions from CONOPS to Validation.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert within discipline with advanced to expert knowledge of work area.
• Oversee and perform lab activities including definition, setup, configuration management, and testing.
• Ensure Modeling, Hardware, and Software Interfaces utilize a scalable ontology.
• Oversee and support the Integration of Solutions within their target environment.
• Coach, review, and delegate work of lower-level professional
• Contribute to the development of goals of the discipline and planning efforts (Cost and Schedule)
• Influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
• Manage moderately sized projects or processes
• Manage the entrance and exit criteria of Design Reviews, Integration, Dry Run, and Formal Qualification Testing
• Review, moderate and document major changes in systems or processes to solve difficult and often complex problems
• Analyze and document system behaviors
• Support system trade studies, requirements analysis, allocation to subsystems
