Job summary

Astrion is seeking a full-time Principal Systems Engineer Support to join the Kill Chain Integration branch (HNJJ) at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. The role focuses on electronic design automation, ICs, PCBs, and embedded systems, with a TS/SCI clearance requirement.

You will design, simulate, test, and deploy mission-critical electronics, collaborating with Air Force program managers and ensuring compliance with DoD standards.

Qualifications

• US citizen with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance and SAP access.
• Bachelor's degree in electronics/electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with Cadence EDA tools and workflows.
• Knowledge of PCB design, analog/digital circuits, embedded firmware.
• Understanding of Air Force mission systems and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create and refine electronic system schematics, PCB layouts, and firmware using Cadence EDA tools (Allegro, Virtuoso, Spectre).
• Perform circuit and system simulations to validate design performance and meet Air Force specs.
• Oversee prototype fabrication, hardware/software testing, and document results for acceptance.
• Prepare design docs including schematics, BOM, test plans, and user manuals per DoD standards.
• Integrate new designs into Air Force systems with existing hardware/software platforms.
• Support maintenance, upgrades, and firmware/hardware revisions for Air Force systems.
• Collaborate with Air Force program managers, contractors, and engineering teams to align with mission needs.
• Ensure designs meet operational requirements and comply with Air Force technical standards.
