Job summary

Tetra Tech is a leading provider of consulting and engineering services and seeks a Chartered Structural Engineer to deliver robust nuclear structural design and analysis across complex projects in a highly regulated environment.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams, perform independent verification, and contribute to safety cases and regulatory compliance to ensure safe and reliable nuclear infrastructure delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering structural engineering solutions in the nuclear sector or similarly regulated industries.
• Strong capability in structural analysis, design assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering design and analysis across complex nuclear projects
• Produce high-quality calculations, drawings and technical documentation
• Apply sound engineering judgement within a highly regulated environment
• Review and verify technical outputs to ensure compliance with nuclear and statutory standards
• Support independent checking and validation activities
• Maintain rigorous quality assurance across engineering deliverables
• Contribute to safety cases, substantiation and design justification
• Ensure designs align with nuclear safety requirements and industry best practice
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and security in technical delivery
• Provide expert technical input within multidisciplinary teams
• Work closely with engineers, project managers and clients to resolve complex technical challenges
• Support informed engineering decisions across projects
• Act as a subject-matter specialist within project teams
• Maintain knowledge of evolving nuclear standards and regulatory guidance
• Promote engineering excellence and continuous improvement in technical practices
