Job summary

Vistra, headquartered in Irving, Texas, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to develop, coordinate, and maintain structural programs for its fossil and renewable fleet. The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable operation of critical equipment, with independent work and coordination across multiple work groups.

The engineer will establish fleet inspection standards, prepare designs and procedures, and manage contractor engagements while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8 years related job experience.
• Registered PE preferred in at least one state with Vistra plant assets.
• Design, repair, and/or maintenance practices for power plant equipment.
• Cognizant of legal, regulatory, and code requirements to meet design constraints.
• Understands objectives and parameters of design and construction and works within them.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and maintains fossil/renewables fleet structural inspection programs.
• Prepares and presents reports, sketches, and designs.
• Facilitates contractor management with engineering firms.
• Ensures project designs comply with sound engineering practice.
• Provides cost and schedule estimates for inspections and repairs.
• Communicates technical subjects to a diverse audience.
