Responsibilities include:
- Provide high-level project oversight to ensure quality outcomes, manage client relationships, and mitigate risks
- Be subject to periodic review and critique of established EAPC Principal outcomes, abilities, and key performance indicators
- Proactively consider project execution from contract negotiations through the construction warranty period
- Ensure appropriate QAQC and final project review
- Complete final review of project invoices
- Monitor client accounts receivable for timely payment of services rendered
- Responsible for contributing to the management of EAPC's project portfolio by attending to Board, Executive, Production, Technical, and Marketing meetings as requested
- Additionally, shall fill the role and expectations of a Senior Level Structural Engineer, including:
- Manage multiple small to medium-sized projects and large projects
- Be involved in the development of new business opportunities and the support of existing clients
- Provide oversight and mentoring of the work performed by junior staff
- Provide structural design, detailing, and calculations as required for all phases of the design of new buildings and structures, as well as additions to and renovations of existing buildings and structures
- Perform structural investigations and/or feasibility studies, including the writing of reports and providing cost estimates when required
- Perform site visits as required to field verify existing conditions, dimensions, elevations, etc.
- Develop technical solutions to deliver the design through documentation and detailing while preserving the design intent
- Apply computerized analysis and design tools
- Participate in all project design phases along with construction administration
- Complete necessary project-related calculations and authoring of specifications
- Perform project management duties, including assisting individual project managers with the development and management of project budgets, scopes, fees, and production coordination with progression toward independently performing these duties
- Collaborate with multiple professional disciplines and be required to work within project deadlines
- Demonstrate an ongoing and consistent ability to work within the EAPC team culture
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated successful history of technical expertise, team leadership, and years of experience in the AE design industry
- Registration as a Professional Engineer
- Positive track record of project quality and understanding of risk management
- Minimum 8+ years of demonstrated experience in the design and detailing of buildings and structures utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
- Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree
- Experience designing low to mid-rise commercial, medical, educational, and industrial structures
- Knowledge of relevant building codes related to the structural design of buildings and structures
- Proficient with structural design software such as RAM, RISA, Enercalc, or similar programs
- Experience mentoring/training structural EITs
- Demonstrated ability to sign and stamp individual work as well as review and stamp the work of other structural engineers or EITs
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to travel and work remotely as required to meet project and corporate demands
- Project management and business development understanding
- Valid driver's license
- Able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
This position will report directly to the Structural Department Manager and will work as an integrated member of a multi-disciplinary, in-house team of engineers, architects, and drafting technicians.
