Job Description

This Clinical Innovation role offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve healthcare delivery across CuraCor Solutions, benefiting our health plans and diversified assets. You will be responsible for developing and leading new clinical products, programs, and projects across Blue Cross NC’s health plan, care delivery, and third-party administrator (TPA) businesses to enhance healthcare delivery, quality outcomes, and affordability for our members, providers, patients, and the community.

To succeed, you will leverage your healthcare experience, knowledge of market best practices, and industry insights to bring the best of Blue Cross NC’s capabilities to our members, providers, and communities. This work aligns with Blue Cross NC’s mission to make healthcare better for all North Carolinians.

On-site expectations at our Durham Campus: 1-2 times a month.

What You'll Do
  1. Leverage understanding of Blue Cross NC’s health plan, healthcare services, and CuraCor Group assets to build strategies that improve healthcare quality, outcomes, and affordability.
  2. Integrate CuraCor Solutions assets into healthcare ideation to generate medical expense savings and new revenue opportunities.
  3. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and design initiatives aligned with the clinical innovation strategy, including impact quantification on member and provider outcomes.
  4. Navigate organizational barriers to implement initiatives effectively.
  5. Build and manage portfolios across Clinical Innovation and Care Delivery/TPA businesses for successful delivery.
  6. Collaborate with health plans, partners, and vendors to monitor and report on the impact of clinical models and programs, refining approaches based on results.
  7. Stay informed on industry thought leadership related to clinical innovation and healthcare ecosystem collaboration.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (where required).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, 10+ years of experience in related fields without a degree.
Bonus Points
  • 10+ years healthcare experience in Payer, Health System, or Clinical Practice, especially in North Carolina.
  • 7+ years of designing and implementing large-scale clinical programs.
  • Experience presenting at the executive level and building socialized plans.
  • Deep understanding of health insurance and provider economics.
  • Proven leadership in implementing clinical programs and overcoming challenges with stakeholders.

Salary Range

Our salaries typically range from $105,600 to $191,800, based on experience, skills, and organizational needs. This is part of a total rewards package including bonus, 401(k), PTO, and health benefits.
