Job summary
AT&T is seeking a Principal Storage Engineer to lead the design, engineering, automation, reliability, and lifecycle management of enterprise storage platforms, spanning SAN, NAS, storage networking, backup and recovery.
The role demands deep expertise in Fiber Channel SAN architectures, NAS platforms, and large-scale infrastructure operations, with duties including setting engineering standards, guiding modernization efforts, and mentoring senior engineers across on-premises and hybrid cloud
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical field
- 12+ years managing enterprise storage environments
- 5+ years in senior architect/leadership roles
- Deep expertise with SAN technologies and Fiber Channel
- Extensive NAS and file services experience
- Strong fundamentals in storage networking, switches and fabrics
- Expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting and capacity mgmt
- Experience supporting mission-critical production environments
Responsibilities
- Lead design and strategic direction of enterprise storage platforms
- Define architecture standards, patterns and best practices
- Evaluate emerging storage Tech and modernization strategies
- Escalation point for complex storage issues
- Drive storage transformation across on-prem and hybrid cloud
- Design and support large-scale Fiber Channel SANs
- Engineer NAS/file services for NFS/SMB workloads
- Collaborate with network engineering on storage transport design
- Develop automation for provisioning, monitoring and lifecycle mgmt
- Lead disaster recovery, backups and data protection strategies
- Mentor engineers and participate in governance and roadmaps
