Position Summary

Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Communications Electronics Engineer to serve as the primary interface between the technical engineering team and program test organizations for critical test events and milestones.

Responsibilities
  • Define communication architectures for system‑simulation efforts.
  • Model and analyze communication networks using Cameo, HFSS, EMIT, and STK to support antenna placement and cosite analysis.
  • Analyze network architectures and topologies for distributed communication applications.
  • Conduct trade studies for radio and Integrated Command and Control (ICS) subsystem architectures.
  • Interact with communications suppliers for integration of radio and IC systems into the lab.
  • Author supplier Statements of Work, Source Control Documentation, and Interface Control Documents.
  • Provide lab integration and test support.
Basic Qualifications – Principal Level (T03)
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university and 5 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited university and 3 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Ph.D. in STEM and 1 year of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications – Senior Principal Level (T04)
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university and 9 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited university and 7 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Ph.D. in STEM and 4 years of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating and testing communications systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL‑STD‑1553, RS‑422, RS‑232, IPv4/IPv6.
  • Experience with networking infrastructure at Layer2 and Layer3 IP for VOIP implementations.
  • Experience with RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers and power meters.
Salary

Primary Level: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00
Secondary Level: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00
