Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Principal BLOS Electronics Communication Engineer or Senior Principal BLOS Electronics Communication Engineer. This role may be filled at Principal or Senior Principal level based on qualifications.

Responsibilities include leading system requirements development, managing life-cycle changes, and coordinating with government sponsors to deliver robust trade studies and analyses for complex satellite communication systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military engineering experience; OR a Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military engineering experience.
  • Senior Principal: Bachelor’s degree in STEM from an accredited university AND 8 years of related professional/military engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM from an accredited university AND 6 years; OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct systems engineering analyses for requirement trades, design/integration trades, and end-to-end performance.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate major uncertainties, risks, and opportunities in system architectures.
  • Present program uncertainties, mitigation approaches, and recommendations to department leadership and government sponsors.
  • Lead the development, decomposition, and peer review of system requirements.
  • Manage requirements, interface, and architecture change processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate analysis outcomes into actionable guidance for U.S. Government agencies.
  • Chair multi-disciplinary working groups or studies, coordinating across engineering domains and external stakeholders to deliver timely recommendations.
  • Support planning, execution, and reporting of complex trade studies and capability trade analyses.

Location and Work Arrangement

Melbourne, FL. This position is not hybrid or remote.

Role

Principal BLOS Electronics Communication Engineer or Senior Principal BLOS Electronics Communication Engineer.

Basic Qualifications
  • Principal: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Senior Principal: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 6 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Ability to work with software, hardware, mechanical, and reliability teams while balancing cost and schedule.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and presenting complex trade studies.
  • Full life cycle experience: concept, requirements, development, integration, verification.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leadership in evaluation and testing of complex satellite communication systems.
  • Expertise in capabilities trade analysis, mission analysis, information assurance, and systems integration.
  • Direct experience with Military and/or Commercial SATCOM, specifically AEHF terminals.
  • Experience working with NSA Certifications and processes.
  • Experience working with MIL-STD-810 and/or DO-160.
  • Customer focus and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated team leadership experience.
Salary

Primary Level: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00. Secondary Level: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00.
