Job summary

RTX in Andover, MA is seeking an energetic, self-directed Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Professional to support our sustainability, compliance, and risk reduction efforts at the site. This complex manufacturing site offers the EHS professional an opportunity to work with manufacturing and support teams to foster employee engagement and drive continuous improvement of the EHS program.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent experience, typically with 5+ years of EH&S experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
  • Professional certification in EH&S (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.) preferred.

What You Will Do
  • Recognize, evaluate, and control hazardous workplace conditions.
  • Take proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
  • Work with subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EHS requirements.
  • Investigate, analyze, and interpret data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Interact with employees and promote relationships, learn the tasks employees perform and be known as a resource to the employees at the site.
  • Work toward building partnerships and influencing across assigned areas to provide actionable improvement programs.
  • Audit and evaluate current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Must be willing and able to respond to emergencies after hours as needed on an infrequent basis.
  • This position requires limited travel for participation in company seminars, EHS audits and training opportunities.
Qualifications
  • You Must Have Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience Experience in EH&S The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications (We Prefer)
  • Experience in laboratory safety or industrial hygiene
  • Familiarity with engineering or research and development environments
  • Emergency response experience (working with team to respond to and help troubleshoot alarms)
  • Experience in managing EH&S issues in a union work environment.
  • Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.
  • Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Onsite Role

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
