Job summary

True Anomaly, Inc. in Denver is seeking a Staff Embedded Systems Security Engineer to own the security of our spacecraft, radio systems, and hardware platforms. You’ll write production code and build tooling while leading security validation across the stack.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role in an AI‑native environment. The position requires deep hardware security expertise, PKI, secure boot, and collaboration with flight software, hardware, and test teams to harden embedded systems

Qualifications

• Active security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
• Deep hands-on expertise in embedded, hardware, and firmware security.
• Strong C/C++ software development and low-level programming experience.
• Proven track record building production security platforms and tooling.
• Deep PKI knowledge for embedded and constrained systems.
• Applied cryptography with FIPS 140-3 and related standards.
• Experience with security testing methodologies and automation.
• Principal-level impact, security strategy, and cross‑team leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the security architecture, threat modeling, and defensive controls for our spacecraft platform.
• Architect and build security platforms, tooling, and foundational services across flight software, firmware, and hardware.
• Design PKI for resource‑constrained spacecraft: device authentication, firmware signing, and secure boot.
• Architect cryptographic implementations to meet standards like FIPS 140‑3, CNSA 2.0, CCSDS SDLS; drive post‑quantum migration.
• Harden the build and deployment pipeline and protect supply‑chain integrity.
• Secure test environments against supply‑chain attacks while reflecting flight security posture.
• Lead security assessments and penetration testing across spacecraft and RF systems.
• Promote secure design practices and partner with hardware, flight software, and test teams.
• Tackle novel space security challenges and stay ahead of RF threats.
• Leverage AI to accelerate development, analyze security data, and close knowledge gaps.
