Job summary

True Anomaly seeks a Principal Embedded Systems Security Engineer to own the security of spacecraft, radio systems, and hardware platforms. You will write production code, build tooling, and secure the embedded stack across flight software, firmware, and hardware, applying deep hardware security expertise in a hands-on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Active security clearance, or ability to obtain one.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in embedded hardware/firmware security, including attack surfaces and secure boot.
• Proven track record building production security platforms and tooling for hardware/embedded teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the security architecture, threat modeling, and defensive controls for spacecraft platform (flight computer, firmware, FPGA gateware, cryptographic implementations, secure boot).
• Architect and build security platforms, tooling, and services to enable secure-by-default across flight software and hardware config.
• Design and implement PKI for resource-constrained spacecraft, including device authentication and firmware signing.
• Lead post-quantum crypto migration and governance meeting stringent standards (FIPS 140-3, CNSA 2.0, CCSDS).
• Secure the software build and deployment pipeline and protect supply-chain integrity of outputs and dependencies.
• Head security assessments and penetration testing across spacecraft, RF systems, and test environments.
