True Anomaly seeks a Principal Embedded Systems Security Engineer to own the security of spacecraft, radio systems, and hardware platforms. You will build security platforms, write production code, and develop tooling for security validation across flight software, firmware, and hardware.

This hands-on leadership role demands deep hardware security expertise across C/C++, FPGA, RTOS, and cryptographic implementations, with impact on critical subsystems.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on expertise in embedded, hardware, and firmware security, including hardware attack surfaces and secure boot.
• Strong software development skills in C and C++, with low-level programming experience across multiple languages.
• Proven track record of building production security platforms, tooling, and foundational services used by hardware and embedded teams.
• Deep PKI knowledge with device authentication, firmware signing, secure boot, and key storage for constrained systems.
• Expert‑level applied cryptography with experience meeting government standards and post-quantum migration.

Responsibilities

• Own the security architecture, threat modeling, and defensive controls for spacecraft platform, flight computer, firmware, FPGA gateware, and cryptographic implementations.
• Architect and build security platforms, tooling, and foundational services enabling secure-by-default across software, firmware, and hardware configuration.
• Design and implement PKI for spacecraft devices, including device authentication, firmware signing, secure boot, and lifecycle management.
• Migrate cryptographic systems to post-quantum standards and ensure compliance with FIPS 140-3, CNSA 2.0, CCSDS SDLS.
• Secure build/deploy pipelines and protect supply-chain integrity of outputs and dependencies.
• Lead security assessments and penetration testing across spacecraft and RF systems.
• Promote secure design practices with cross-domain teams and mentor engineers.
