Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. in the Midwest seeks a Principal Solid Waste Engineer or Geologist to lead a skilled team within our geoenvironmental and geotechnical practice. Based in Grand Rapids, MI, Detroit, MI, Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City, MO, St.

Louis, MO, Milwaukee, WI, or any Midwest office, with remote or hybrid work options. The role includes guiding complex landfill projects, regulatory compliance, client relations, and business development, while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in solid waste or equivalent
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Experience leading teams and mentoring staff
• Experience with regulatory and permit processes in solid waste
• Fieldwork up to 30% and willingness to travel as needed

Responsabilités

• Engage in sales, business development, and client relationship management to expand solid waste market share
• Lead landfill engineering design including liner, final cover, and gas systems
• Oversee civil design, transfer station design, site layout, and hydrologic analyses
• Perform engineering analyses such as slope stability, seismic, and seepage modeling
• Prepare permits, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
• Mentor staff and manage projects from inception to delivery
• Drive operations at project sites and coordinate with clients and vendors
