Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Bellevue, NE. In this role you will contribute to enterprise-wide digital transformation, employing DevSecOps and Agile practices to deliver national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter.

The position supports the OIX program, a secure cross-domain platform with multidisciplinary teams across software, systems, cyber, and test engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of relative experience; Master’s with 3+ years; PhD +1 year.
• Active Secret security clearance enrolled in Continuous Evaluation, and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• Ability to meet customer-specific security screening requirements within a timeframe set forth by management.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze system requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Proven ability to design and code new software, and modify existing software to add features.
• Ability to debug existing software and correct defects.
• Experience with open software/system architecture solutions.
• Experience with Git-based or other software configuration management tools.
• Ability to work on-site in Bellevue

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems.
• Develop software using modern programming languages to support US government requirements.
• Implement modular, scalable, and reliable software architectures.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers in planning, design, and development of electronic data processing systems.
• Analyze user needs and system capabilities to meet program requirements.
• Ensure software engineering best practices and standards are applied.
• Work with software leads and architects to understand program intent and output requirements.
• Provide on-site support to customers for installations and maintenance
