KIRA builds technology products used by millions across Southeast Asia. As our products scale, we need technical leaders who can solve difficult engineering problems and raise the bar. This is a hands-on Principal Software Engineer role designed to translate ideas into production.

You will own technical direction for major products, design scalable systems, write code, review others, and mentor engineers across teams while working in a distributed, global, remote-ready environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.
• Expertise in backend, frontend, APIs, databases or cloud.
• Strong system design and architecture for large-scale systems.
• Hands-on coding ability and track record of leading projects.
• Ability to make technical trade-offs and influence engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own technical design and execution for major products and systems.
• Design scalable, reliable systems across backend, frontend, APIs, databases and infra.
• Code, prototype, review, debug, and solve production problems.
• Drive architecture decisions balancing speed, scalability, reliability, cost.
• Mentor engineers across teams and lead critical initiatives.
