Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineer Principal to lead analytics and decisioning initiatives across multiple business units. You will design and evolve APIs and decision services, using Java 8/11/17, Groovy, and Python, with a focus on scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

You will mentor teammates, apply SOLID principles, and collaborate with business and technology teams to define API contracts and integrations. This role is office-based with exposure to modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science or related field; 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on Java development with modern language features.
• Experience with Groovy and Python for automation and integrations.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics and decisioning processes across multiple functions or units.
• Define, develop, maintain APIs and decision services.
• Design and maintain Java-based enterprise applications per standards.
• Develop and manage business rules using BRMS platforms.
• Create Groovy scripts and Python solutions for integrations and automation.
• Apply SOLID principles and modern design patterns.
• Define API contracts using Swagger/OpenAPI with teams.
• Design integrations using REST, SOAP, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Develop Python utilities, ETL components, and automation frameworks.
