Job summary

PNC is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in the Lending Tech group to drive Java-based solutions and enterprise integrations. You will work across multiple offices, including Dallas, Pittsburgh, Birmingham, Strongsville and Phoenix, applying modern patterns and tools to deliver scalable software.

Expect to design and evolve APIs with OpenAPI, implement BRMS decision services, and mentor teammates while applying SOLID, DDD, and CI/CD best practices for secure, resilient software.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience across modern versions.
• Experience with Groovy/Python scripting for automation and data processing.
• Experience with BRMS/Rules Engines and API design.
• Knowledge of SOLID, DDD, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Experience designing microservices and cloud-native apps.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics and decisioning across multiple functions and mentor juniors.
• Define and maintain APIs and decision services for enterprise capabilities.
• Develop enterprise apps using Java 8/11/17 and best practices.
• Implement BRMS-based decision services; ensure scalability and maintainability.
• Design Groovy/Python solutions for integrations, automation, and analytics.
