Panasonic Avionics Corporation seeks a Principal Software Engineer to define technical direction across platforms connecting e-commerce, payments, and data. You will lead architectural decisions, guide production systems, and mentor teams, while enabling agentic AI to enhance productivity and reliability.

The role emphasizes architecture leadership, hands-on engineering, and ensuring secure, scalable solutions for connected hardware and cloud services.

Qualifications

Significant production software experience, typically 12+ years.
Ability to define architecture and lead adoption.
Deep expertise in distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architectures, data modeling, and cloud platforms.
Strong experience in commerce or payments, with transaction lifecycles and reconciliation understanding.
Experience integrating software with connected devices or hardware-dependent systems.
Proficiency in one or more production languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, C++, TypeScript).
Experience improving reliability via observability, performance engineering, and automated testing.
Ability to influence across teams and communicate with leaders.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

Define the technical direction across platforms connecting e-commerce, payments, and data.
Build reliable commerce and payment systems with strong security and recovery.
Design cloud-to-device workflows for constrained compute and intermittent connectivity.
Establish data foundations with clear event models and pipelines.
Engineer for offline operation, retries, and edge/cloud recovery.
Lead engineering practices to improve quality and reliability, and guide AI-enabled workflows.
