Job summary

Tonal is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to drive architecture and delivery across device, app, and cloud systems. You will turn business priorities into technical direction, own cross-team initiatives from definition to launch, and stay hands-on through production.

You will mentor senior engineers and help teams move faster while delivering reliable, scalable platforms. You will guide critical migrations, improve observability, and partner with data science and platform owners on production

Qualifications

Led architecture and delivery across multiple teams with measurable results.
Deep backend, distributed systems, and cloud expertise.
Operates production software and migrations with pragmatic tradeoffs.
Turns ambiguity into focused plans and aligns technical and nontechnical partners.
Mentors senior engineers to grow technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Set 6-12 month technical direction across device, app, and cloud.
Lead cross-team initiatives from problem definition to launch and adoption.
Write critical-path code, build prototypes, guide migrations, and debug issues.
Simplify shared systems and interfaces to improve reliability and developer workflow.
Mentor senior and Staff engineers through design and delivery.
Use AI-assisted engineering tools to improve delivery or quality.
