Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Anti-Abuse team to lead platform-wide abuse prevention and detection efforts, setting the technical strategy and partnering with product and engineering to harden Snowflake's surfaces from day one.

You will architect high-throughput telemetry pipelines and risk-scoring engines that analyze millions of queries across AWS, Azure, and GCP, while modeling emerging abuse techniques and attacker economics to stay ahead of threats.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in distributed systems or security engineering.
• Experience with anti-abuse and fraud detection at scale.
• Proficient in Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience with threat modeling and threat vectors.
• Ability to partner with product and security teams.
• Education: CS/CE/Cybersecurity degree or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term technical vision for abuse prevention.
• Architect platform-wide anti-abuse controls from day one.
• Design high-throughput telemetry pipelines and risk scoring.
• Model emerging abuse techniques and attacker economics.
• Mentor staff and influence architectural standards.
