Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineer Principal - Ansible/Python in the Technology organization. The role can be based in multiple U.S. locations including Pittsburgh, PA, Strongsville, OH, Cleveland, OH, Birmingham, AL, Phoenix, AZ, Lakewood, CO, and Dallas, TX.

It is an in-office position emphasizing reliability, architectural collaboration, and hands-on development. The ideal candidate will own and operate backend systems with a focus on availability, disaster recovery, and automated failover

Qualifications

5+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
Experience with Ansible and Python development.
Experience with distributed systems, high availability and resiliency.
Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing.
Experience building APIs using FastAPI and relational DB access.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain backend infrastructure with high availability and failover.
Architect resiliency solutions for distributed systems and implement failover workflows.
Develop automation using Ansible and Python for recovery operations.
Lead disaster recovery testing and validate system readiness.
Collaborate with architects and product owners to plan and size work.
Work in an Agile environment, contributing to planning and delivery.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
