Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Emerging Technology & AI - Remote. You will lead hands-on technical work, shape prototypes, and drive adoption of GenAI and related technologies across delivery teams.

You will mentor engineers, define architecture patterns, and partner with Enterprise Architecture to ensure secure, scalable solutions. This role supports a remote‑first culture with nationwide opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or an equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• 10 years Software development experience.
• Cloud-native services (e.g., AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3).
• Build, integration, and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven).
• Programming languages and frameworks (Java/J2EE, Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React).
• Holds applicable certifications aligned to the technology stack.
• Familiarity with cloud-native services and architectures.
• Experience with software build, integration, and deployment tools.
• Demonstrates company ownership mindset and willingness to travel as needed.
• Fulfills business needs, including supporting cross-functional projects and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead emerging tech labs and individually contribute as a technical executor.
• Design prototypes, proofs of concept, and pilots to validate feasibility.
• Evaluate platforms, APIs, and cloud services for enterprise use cases.
• Mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions across experiments.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and stakeholders to ensure governance and standards.
• Translate experiment outcomes into reusable guidance and patterns.
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
