Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for the Business Experience team based in the United States. You will design and scale systems for advertiser and creator experiences, shape the next generation infrastructure, and mentor engineers to uphold high standards of reliability and performance.

You will collaborate with product, design, data science and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive, impactful solutions and to drive advertiser value across Snap’s platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of post‑Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree + 9+ year experience; or a PhD + 6+ years of post‑grad software development.
• 2+ years of experience with technical leadership or domain‑expert role.
• Experience architecting, designing, and developing distributed systems.
• Ads domain experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement systems that support advertiser experiences and creator ads platform at Snap.
• Lead the vision and strategy for next‑generation infrastructure focusing on scalability and performance.
• Innovate advertiser flows and creator marketplace products based on trends and needs.
• Collaborate with product, design, data science, and other engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Advocate for availability, scalability, operational excellence, and cost management.
• Mentor and guide other engineers to foster technical excellence.
