What You Will Do – Essential Responsibilities
  • Work with fellow associates to understand the real-life challenges of customers and discover what they need to move seamlessly between the online and in-person shopping experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in product design, product management and systems architecture to develop experimental solutions and bring great ideas to life.
  • Market your innovative ideas internally and evolve them according to feedback and critique within an agile environment.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and best practice to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer experience is the best it can be.
Purpose of the role

Working collaboratively and creatively as part of a close-knit product team, you will be part of the development process from end to end: consulting stakeholder, carrying out experiments, tackling complex business problems and implementing new products. You can balance stakeholder needs with business goals and know how to deliver technical solutions that enhance business value. This role will be intimately involved with innovating in our digital search and merchandising technology stack. Creative, curious, and highly analytical, you never stop learning and thrive on constant change in the digital marketplace.

Qualifications And Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required.
  • Strong teamwork skills, ability to learn quickly, excellent written and spoken communication required.
  • 7+ years of application development experience required.
Experience In The Following Required
  • 7+ years of experience with the .NET Core/C#/ Microsoft Azure offerings
  • Deep understanding of Azure products and ARM and bicep templates
  • Knowledge of NoSQL database technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple teams.
  • Experience working with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience building RESTful APIs
  • Experience with back-end architecture and design
  • GIT experience.
Experience In The Following Preferred
  • Experience with Front-end architecture.
  • Experience with search technology
  • Experience working within a product organization.
Work Location and Arrangement
  • Midtown: This role will be based out of the CarMax Midtown Innovation Center (Richmond, VA) and associates will work onsite 5 days per week.
  • Plano: This role will be based out of the CarMax Dallas Tech Hub (Plano, TX) and associates will work onsite 2 days per week.
Work Authorization

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
