Job description

The Role:

Moderna Services, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Development Engineer for its Norwood, Massachusetts location.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Develop enterprise-scale microservice applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.

  • Design and implement web applications using NodeJS, Angular 15, Typescript, Sequelize, PostgreSQL, AWS S3, AWS SNS, & AWS SQS.

  • Implement unit test cases for API and end to end test cases using Jest and Cypress.

  • Implementing Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment for apps to ensure continuous delivery in AWS cloud with unit tests integrated.

  • Ensure application security by addressing any open vulnerabilities reported by Synk.

  • Maintain code quality.

  • Reduce the technical debt and increase code maintainability.

  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to coding guidelines.

  • Support end users in production environment by implementing bug fixes and conducting demos.

  • Serve as a functional product owner to define tickets in JIRA and maintain the JIRA board including the product roadmap.

  • Writing UAT test plan to help end users test all possible scenarios before feature go-live in production.

  • Develop and maintain confluence documents for the web application’s system architecture, user workflows, entity relationship (ER diagram), release notes, and design documents.

  • Lead multiple applications and mentor a team of engineers.

  • Drive standups, sprint planning, and backlog refinement meetings.

  • Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week.


Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • Minimum requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Full Stack Developer, Senior Systems Analyst, Module Lead, or related position.

  • 6 years of experience must include:

  • Writing code for UI with Angular, JavaScript, Typescript, HTML, Cascading & StyleSheets;

  • Writing backend code with NodeJS and ExpressJS;

  • Sequelize for Object Relational Mapping to query data;

  • Maintaining cloud infrastructure with AWS;

  • PostgreSQL to write SQL queries; and

  • Team management and mentorship of software developers & engineers.

  • Telecommuting permitted 2 day per week.
