Summary:

As a Principal Software Architect, you will play a key role in designing and advocating for scalable, AI-powered software architectures while guiding development teams through best practices. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, this is a high-impact individual contributor position focused on technical vision, cross-functional collaboration, and influencing engineering teams without direct authority.

Your work will directly shape our next-generation AI solutions, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and aligned with business goals.

What You’ll Do:

1. Design and guide the architecture and implementation of scalable, AI-powered solutions that align with business objectives.
2. Collaborate with engineering, product, and leadership teams to define and deliver new features and enhancements.
3. Establish best practices and architectural patterns for microservices, parallel processing, data storage, data management, reporting, and messaging systems.
4. Perform architectural reviews and provide technical oversight, ensuring solutions align with the system vision, scalability goals, and best practices.
5. Interact with senior business leaders for all major capability enhancements (roadmap) and provide/own the proposed architectural solution. Participate in road mapping activities with all stakeholders.
6. Contribute to day-to-day technical deliverables.
7. Stay at the forefront by continuously exploring emerging technologies to keep our business competitive and innovative.

What Success Looks Like:

1. In 3 months, you will have a deep understanding of our software solutions and platforms and have contributed to the design and implementation of key AI-powered features.
2. In 6 months, you will have led the delivery of major feature/capabilities.
3. In 12 months, you will have successfully driven AI and architectural initiatives that improve platform scalability, system performance, and business outcomes while being recognized as a technical thought leader.

What You Need:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). A Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred.
2. Expertise in AI/ML technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), autonomous agents, and modern machine learning frameworks.
3. Strong hands-on experience with Python, cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and distributed systems architecture.
4. 10+ years of experience designing, architecting, and optimizing enterprise-scale applications, with a focus on scalability, security, and AI-driven solutions.
5. Proven experience as a software architect or senior developer, with a track record of leading complex technical initiatives.
6. Deep knowledge of modern software engineering principles, architectural best practices, and emerging AI trends.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
8. Experience in healthcare technology or regulated industries is preferred.
9. Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly evolving environments.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of judgment and creativity in designing innovative solutions.
11. Understanding of ethical AI principles, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, SOC2).
12. Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment, ensuring high-quality virtual interactions with minimal distractions.
13. Willingness to travel periodically for team collaboration and company events.
