Job summary

Siemens Energy seeks a Principal/Senior Consultant to lead grid consulting projects in the energy transformation space. You will acquire projects, coordinate studies, and manage stakeholders across utilities, industrials, and data centers to deliver electrification initiatives.

Ideal candidates have a proven track record in energy consulting, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 20% to engage with clients and partners.

Qualifications

  • Completed university degree in engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred) with relevant professional experience.
  • Long-term consulting experience (>8 years) for electrical utilities, industrial organizations and data centers.
  • Experience in grid digitalization, energy system & market modelling, power system simulation, data center RAMS.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Project acquisition: representing the capabilities of our services to existing and prospective clients in the regional market, to develop and implement consulting projects in energy transformation fields, and networking with industry stakeholders to build lasting relationships.
  • Consulting study execution: coordinating studies for business cases, technical and economic analysis, and proof of concepts for electrification and decarbonization of high CO2 emitting industry verticals, electrical power systems and data centers.
  • Stakeholder and partner management: building and maintaining lasting customer relationships and coordinating with partners and sub-suppliers to ensure successful project delivery, and representing the company in grid-related standardization committees and workshops.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal/Senior Consultant to join our Grid Consulting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for

  • Stakeholder and partner management: building and maintaining lasting customer relationships and coordinating with partners and sub-suppliers to ensure successful project delivery. Additionally, you will represent the company in grid-related standardization committees, working groups, workshops, and conferences.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of consulting business in the energy sector with a strong focus on electrification and decarbonization. You should possess a deep understanding of the energy industry and be able to work closely with customers to identify and deliver innovative solutions.

To excel in this role, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders. You should also be highly organized and able to coordinate complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Completed university degree in engineering (Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred) with relevant professional experience.

  • Long-term working experience in consulting (>8 years) for electrical utilities, industrial organizations and data centers.

  • Experience and expertise in grid digitalization, energy system and market modelling simulation, power system simulation, data center RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability studies), renewable energy and storage.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of successful project management, always eager to explore and implement innovative solutions and applying problem-solving skills within a consulting environment.

  • Validated knowledge and experience regarding the design and implementation of technology adoption roadmaps for electrical utilities.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Flexibility to travel as needed, up to 20%.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
