Job summary

Seesaw is seeking a Principal Senior Security Engineer who writes code, reviews architecture, shapes SDLC, and drives security across product and infrastructure. This is a hands-on, strategic role that embeds security throughout our stack while guiding a scalable security program.

You will partner with Engineering, IT, and Legal to advance threat modeling, secure coding, and risk management in a fast-growing education technology environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience is required.
• Strong experience in application security and SDLC integration.
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) including IAM and networking.
• Ability to set direction while staying hands-on.
• Clear, actionable communication of security concepts.

Responsibilities

• Security Program Leadership: own security strategy, roadmap, and posture.
• Application Security & Secure SDLC: threat modeling, code reviews, secure coding standards.
• Hands-On Engineering: build security tooling and automation; secure across app/API/infra.
• Infrastructure & DevSecOps: vulnerability management, patching, CI/CD security gates.
• Compliance & Policy: collaborate on SOC 2/ISO 27001 and regulatory readiness.
