Job summary

Iceberg is seeking a seriously strong, hands-on security engineer in New York. This technically deep leadership role requires continuing to write production code, design systems and build security infrastructure.

You will own security domains including PKI, credentials, privileged access, identity and service-to-service authentication, along with security platforms and automation in Linux/cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security engineering with production code experience.
• Built control planes, internal platforms or security services.
• Experience with PKI, certificates and cryptographic services.
• Experience securing secrets, credentials and privileged access.
• Experience with workload identity and service-to-service authentication.

Responsibilities

• Own and solve complex security engineering problems across PKI, secrets, identity, platforms and automation.
• Design and implement security infrastructure, tooling and automation in production environments.
• Lead security platform decisions while continuing to write code and contribute to engineering efforts.

Job description

I'm working with a leading investment firm in New York looking for a seriously strong, hands-on security engineer.

This is effectively a technical leadership role, but they don't want someone who's moved away from engineering. They want someone who is still writing production code, designing systems and building security infrastructure.

You'll take ownership of some pretty complex engineering problems across areas including:

• PKI, certificates and cryptographic services
• Secrets, credentials and privileged access
• Machine/workload identity and service-to-service authentication
• Security platforms, tooling and automation
• Linux/cloud infrastructure security

They're particularly interested in engineers who have built these systems themselves, control planes, internal platforms, services, APIs, automation etc. rather than primarily implementing and operating vendor products.

NYC and 4 days onsite.

Compensation is expected to be around $500k-$600k total comp, with no hard ceiling for an exceptional person.
