About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our Product Security Engineering team. This team has the unique opportunity to lead bold engineering projects across the company to enhance customer security.
The Product Security team enables Gusto to move faster and more securely. We build security tools and services, provide security training and expertise, and promote best practices in authorization and data handling to help developers ship secure code efficiently.

Our targeted cash compensation for this role is $200,000 to $235,000 per year in Denver and most remote locations, and $235,000 to $280,000 per year in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. Stock options are also offered. Final offers depend on experience and expertise.
Gusto has physical offices in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees in these locations are expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week. The same applies to roles at our subsidiary, Gusto's Symmetry, based in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations cover both San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
