We’re seeking a senior, hands-on Principal Security Architect, Cloud and Enterprise to lead the design and implementation of secure systems across our cloud and enterprise environments. This is a highly visible role combining deep technical execution (50%) with strategic leadership and collaboration (50%).

You’ll own critical domains such as AWS security architecture, threat modeling, IAM frameworks, Zero Trust, SIEM optimization, and DevSecOps integration. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced architect who’s also ready to mentor others and influence security direction across teams and stakeholders.

This role also includes broader enterprise security responsibilities, such as designing and maintaining our enterprise cyber architecture blueprints and encouraging adoption of security best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement a unified, scalable security architecture aligned with NIST CSF 2.0, NIST 800-53, and PCI frameworks.
Standardize security controls across infrastructure, networks, and applications.
Architect secure, resilient AWS cloud environments, including IAM, VPC design, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
Integrate security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines to enforce DevSecOps best practices.
Establish security baselines and automated guardrails for AWS cloud environments.
Develop and manage Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code to codify and automate security best practices.
Drive Zero Trust Architecture implementation across enterprise, cloud, users, and workloads.
Enhance endpoint protection, network segmentation, and encryption strategies.
Implement layered threat detection and advanced security monitoring tools.
Ensure strong data governance and protection for structured and unstructured data, including sensitive taxpayer and payment data.
Perform risk assessments, threat modeling, and architecture reviews for new systems and major changes.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a small team of security architects and engineers across cloud, enterprise, and application security.
Collaborate with product, IT, engineering, and leadership stakeholders to align security strategies with business goals.
Evolve and enforce security governance policies, standards, and incident response playbooks.

Qualifications:

8+ years in cybersecurity architecture or engineering roles.
Deep, hands-on experience with AWS security services (e.g., IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, Control Tower, SCPs).
Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code in production environments.
Proven success implementing Zero Trust, IAM frameworks, and security architecture in cloud-first organizations.
Strong background in threat modeling, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance (e.g., PCI, NIST 800-53).

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent cloud security credentials.
