Akamai is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test to own VM/fleet test strategy, performance quality gates, and hypervisor validation across our IaaS platform. You will design environments and benchmarks, guiding SDETs with statistical rigor while collaborating with Product and SRE to ensure safe deployments.

Formación

• 12+ years of testing experience, including performance testing of hypervisor platforms and systems engineering.
• Experience with KVM/QEMU/libvirt internals, VM-exits, NUMA/cache effects on performance.
• Strong Linux fundamentals: scheduler, memory subsystems, I/O, storage and block devices.
• Demonstrated statistical thinking: experimental design, baseline analysis, variance control.

Responsabilidades

• Define and own test strategy for hypervisor behavior, VM performance, and fleet-level quality gates.
• Design reproducible test environments that emulate bare-metal VM conditions using containers.
• Develop automated performance benchmarks with statistical baselines and regression gating for CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product and SRE to define SLO measurement and deployment safety.
• Write test harnesses and performance analysis pipelines in Go, Python, and Perl.
