Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Product Design Senior Principal Scientist to lead germplasm design across Genomics, breeding and data science. You will steer innovation and coordinate across NA, LATAM, EMEA, APAC to deliver a robust product pipeline.

The role requires advanced degrees with a track record in breeding programs or applied data science, and a strong leadership, collaboration and technical focus.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Genetics (plant, animal or human) or related field.
• Ph.D. in Genetics or related field with minimum 8 years in breeding programs or data science.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Architect the technical strategy to design improved germplasm cohorts aligned with product targets.
• Lead collaborations with Breeding R&D, Crop Science partner teams and cross-region teams.
• Cultivate relationships across field testing, data science, engineering, logistics and product orgs.
• Ensure knowledge and data transfer during crop cycle transitions.
• Identify opportunities for new technology implementation and process improvements.
• Mentor and elevate cross-functional talent; coach peers.
• Champion Health, Safety & Environment, Compliance and Human Rights policies.
