Job summary

Dyne Therapeutics is seeking a Principal Scientist of Oligonucleotide Development to lead synthesis strategy for PMO and modified ASO payloads, coordinating internal efforts and external CDMOs to enable IND-enabling studies. This onsite role requires 4-5 days per week presence in Waltham, MA.

You will drive robust manufacturing processes, contribute to regulatory submissions, and shape CMC strategies as part of a matrixed team focused on neuromuscular targets.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience (advanced degree preferred)
• Oligonucleotide Expertise: process chemistry and development of PMO and modified ASO oligonucleotides, incl. synthesis and purification
• Experience in Research & Development within a clinical-stage biotechnology company
• External Management: oversight of CDMOs and technology transfers
• Analytical Depth: impurity control strategies and physicochemical characterization

Responsibilities

• Lead design, optimization, and execution of process development for PMO and modified ASO payload molecules, ensuring scalability for clinical supply
• Support analytical development focusing on impurity control strategies, raw material specs, and physicochemical characterization
• Identify and implement emerging technologies to improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency
• Prepare technical source documents, publications, and presentations
• Prepare and review CMC and product sections for IND/IMPD regulatory submissions
• Review and approve development and cGMP documents including Tech Transfer, MBRs, and campaign reports
• Spearhead external partner and project management for technology transfer and data integrity
• Resolve complex manufacturing or analytical challenges with timely data-driven solutions
• Contribute to regulatory filings (IND, IMPD) and ensure high-quality content
• Oversee creation of technical documents and external communications
