Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) seeks a Principal Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer to join the Land Quality & Remediation practice in Anchorage or Fairbanks. Lead projects, mentor staff, and grow client relationships while shaping Alaska operations.

Qualifications

  • 10 to 15+ years of experience in environmental consulting, including project, client, and staff leadership.
  • Alaska work preferred.
  • Strong technical background in environmental investigation and remediation involving soil, groundwater, vapor, and sediment and associated waste management.
  • Strong working knowledge of CERCLA, TSCA and RCRA and Alaska-specific environmental regulations, and familiarity with Alaska's regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Experience leading or supporting business development efforts, proposals, and client engagements.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for growing a practice.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing others.

Role SLR is seeking a Principal Geologist, Scientist, or Engineer, to join our growing Land Quality & Remediation practice in either our Anchorage or Fairbanks office. Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive total compensation package including comprehensive benefits, vacation, and a suite of wellness initiatives
  • The salary range for this position is $130,000-170,000.
  • Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental or Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Alaska Civil or Environmental Professional Engineer license, Registered or Certified Geologist.
  • Hazardous waste management experience is a plus, particularly in industrial, environmental, or regulatory settings.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Existing relationships within industrial, real estate, energy, municipal, or redevelopment sectors.
  • Experience in Arctic, sub-Arctic, or remote operating environments.
  • Experience preparing Storm Water Pollution Plans and Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans.
  • Experience working in highly collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
