Opportunity for an Automation Specialist in the Biomarker and Bioanalytical Platforms group within the Precision Medicine division at Upper Providence. The role involves contributing to efforts to shorten drug development timelines and improve data quality through automation strategies, development, and implementation of automated solutions, including instrumentation and software. You will collaborate with scientists to enhance analytical workflows and deliver measurable process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead automation process development and strategy implementation.
• Design and optimize automated laboratory workflows to improve efficiency.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated systems to ensure optimal operation.
• Author technical documents, SOPs, and provide training to end-users.
• Ensure compliance with GCP requirements in automated workflows.
• Support investigations and address QA findings.
• Evaluate and select new automation platforms and instruments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop customized automation solutions.
• Drive innovation in automated workflows.
• Stay informed on new technologies through engagement with external experts and internal automation groups.

Qualifications

Basic:

• BSc in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in pharma or biotech environment.
• Hands-on experience with liquid handling systems (e.g., Echo, Agilent Bravo, SPT instruments).
• Laboratory experience supporting analytical workflows.

Preferred:

• MS/PhD in relevant fields.
• Experience programming and debugging liquid handling scripts, especially Hamilton STAR platforms.
• Experience with method validation and clinical sample testing.
• Knowledge of computer system and software validation in regulated environments.
• Understanding of drug development and clinical trial operations.
• Strong publication or presentation record.
• Focus on quality, compliance, and operational excellence in automation.
