Principal Robotics Software Engineer (Level IV)

Boston Engineering seeks an experienced Principal Robotics Software Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Develop solutions from the specification phase through final delivery and acceptance testing.
• Approach designs from a system perspective.
• Lead the software development of complex robotics systems.
• Research and quickly learn new technologies.

What sets you apart:

• Experience as a software systems engineer on complex robotics projects.
• Contributions to Open Source software.
• Expertise in localization algorithms, Behavior Trees, Path Planning for mobile robots and arm manipulation, and simulation environments such as Gazebo.

Qualifications:

• Eight to twelve plus years of experience.
• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science.
• Expert in Robotics (ROS2).
• Expert in software systems architecture and design.
• Comfortable acting in a customer-facing role.
• Experience with Linux.
• Fluency in technical oversight, mentoring, and review of project work efforts from junior-level engineering personnel.
• Ability to oversee and conduct project design reviews, identify project risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Expertise in using Git.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
