Job summary

ARA's Engineering Science Division is seeking a principal robotics engineer with a strong C++ background and robotics experience to develop robust software for virtual simulation. The role is on-site in San Antonio, TX, and requires U.S.

citizenship with eligibility for access to classified information. You will design real-time C++ code for embedded systems, build and test simulation environments, develop ROS/ROS2 frameworks, and analyze data from simulations and hardware to optimize

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
12+ years of experience; advanced degree may partly fulfill the requirement.
Expert-level modern C++ (C++11/14/17+) for embedded and real-time systems.
Experience in robotics software development including motion planning, perception and control.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize high-performance, real-time C++ code for embedded robotics and simulation.
Create and refine virtual models and simulation environments for testing robotics systems.
Develop ROS/ROS2 frameworks and algorithms to integrate subsystems and sensors.
Analyze data from simulations and hardware to improve performance and debug issues.
