Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking a Principal Resource Geologist in Denver to lead geological modelling, block-model construction, and NI 43-101 reporting. You will mentor junior geologists and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality assessments for precious and base metals across diverse terranes.

You will use Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan, Datamine, or MicroMine for 3D modeling, conduct due diligence, and contribute to client development and project delivery with strong QA/QC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering.
• 15–20+ years of minerals exploration and resource estimation.
• Qualified Person (QP) certification required.
• Experience with geostatistics and estimation methods (OK, IDW, etc.).
• 3D mine modeling using Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan, Datamine or MicroMine.

Responsibilities

Our projects encompass a wide spectrum, including geological modeling, statistical analysis, and resource estimation and reporting for various metals and depositional environments.You will bring demonstrated skills and experience with mineral resource/geological modelling (experience with Leapfrog is a must), exploration and project reviews. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.* Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement**Qualifications/Education/Memberships:*** Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering* 15-20+ years of minerals exploration, operation, and resource estimation.* Certification as a Qualified Person (QP) is required* Experienced in geostatistics and estimation methods (such as but not limited to ordinary kriging, inverse distance weighting)* Experienced in modelling various commodities in a variety of geological terranes, including Carlin, porphyry, and skarn. Multi-commodity experience in precious metals and base metals* Proficiency in 3D Mine Modeling software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, MinePlan, Datamine, or MicroMine.* Experienced in geological and block modelling, domaining, grade capping, and QA/QC* Authorship or co-authorship of SK 1300 and/or NI 43-101 Technical Reports, or other CRIRSCO standard reports* Familiarity with resource classification, cutoff grade development, and application of modifying factors* Professional certifications or organizations (CPG, SME-RM, MMSA) desired* Experience with audits, due diligence, and third-party reviews preferred* Advanced skills in Excel or Access (or other database tools)* Strong project management skills for handling large-scale projects* Excellent communication skills in English* Proficiency in Spanish is advantageousThis job posting is for an existing vacancy.
