Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Reliability Engineer to own system-level reliability for highly complex hardware, synthesizing data from multiple subsystems into reliability models that guide design and uptime.

You will collaborate with optical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, vacuum, cryogenic, and controls engineering teams, perform structured root-cause analyses, and lead reliability testing efforts to improve product qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience in reliability engineering, test, validation or failure analysis.
• Ability to synthesize data from multiple subsystems into system-level analyses.
• Strong root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills.
• Experience supporting complex hardware with multi-disciplinary integration (optical, electrical, mechanical...).
• Hands-on reliability activities including reliability testing and life prediction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own system-level reliability strategies for complex hardware.
• Interpret test and field data to identify trends and propose design improvements.
• Perform root cause analysis to drive corrective actions and preventives.
• Plan and oversee reliability testing, including accelerated life and environmental tests.
• Collaborate with engineers across optical, electrical, mechanical, thermal, and controls domains.
• Create reliability plans and technical documentation for design-for-reliability.
