Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced Design & Simulation Engineer for the SSH R&D group. You will lead design optimization, perform nonlinear mechanical analyses, and advance testing protocols for cardiovascular devices.

You will collaborate across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to deliver robust designs. Domestic and international travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific field, with 6+ years of experience, or Master’s with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years.
• Experience in mechanical design, structural/ fatigue analysis, and computational modeling.
• Proficiency in nonlinear mechanics, plasticity, and advanced computational methods (FEA).
• Experience with Python and MATLAB scripting.
• Ability to collaborate across R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead in designing and optimizing complex tests and reporting results based on engineering principles.
• Support device design optimization using CAD/FEA and predictive methods.
• Analyze experimental data to validate computational models.
• Present analysis results to stakeholders and contribute to internal reports.
