Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Principal Quality Specialist in Ogden, UT, to lead quality and laboratory initiatives onsite. You will own qualification programs, drive improvements, and support procurement with quality requirements, reporting to the Senior Quality Manager.

The role requires a BS in a STEM field and 6+ years in quality or regulated environments, with Six Sigma credentials and SAP experience.

Qualifications

• Requires 6+ years in quality assurance, quality systems, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience supporting internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent credentials advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Quality and laboratory personnel as a subject matter expert.
• Develop and maintain qualification standards, competency requirements, and related records for department professionals and laboratory personnel.
• Lead projects that strengthen technical capability and preserve knowledge across the organization.
• Serve as primary Quality interface for laboratory procurement activities and ensure compliance with quality and technical requirements.
• Lead investigations related to laboratory quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Support internal, supplier, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Perform internal audits as needed.
• Analyze departmental metrics and trends to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

About the role:

As a Principal Quality Specialist, you will serve as a technical leader within the Quality organization. You will provide ownership of personnel qualification programs, laboratory quality processes, and procurement support. We will do this in accordance with applicable regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. Through collaboration with departments across the site, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at strengthening technical capability and operational effectiveness. You will be an important resource for laboratory technical expertise, quality system performance, and continuity of critical technical knowledge.

You will report to the Senior Quality Manager and be located at Ogden, UT. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Quality and laboratory personnel as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications:

• B.S. required in a STEM field.
• 6+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality systems, laboratory operations, or a regulated Manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or equivalent continuous improvement credentials.
• Experience supporting internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Experience with SAP functions.
• NQA-1, ASQ, or equivalent auditor credentials.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
