Job summary

Microchip Technology is seeking a Principal Engineer to join our Quality Team, contributing to product quality, process integrity, and operational excellence.

The role leads supplier quality, drives corrective actions, and supports audits including ISO9001 and AS9102 First Article Inspections. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and sales to deliver robust quality improvements.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required for ITAR site.
• ISO9001 familiarity and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 10 years of manufacturing experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main quality liaison with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Resolve quality issues and lead corrective actions.
• Inspect and verify conformance of raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods.
• Report on quality metrics, non-conformances, and recommend improvements.
• Visit suppliers and customers to assess quality performance and gather feedback.
• Support new supplier onboarding and AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure ISO9001 and company standards.
• Deliver training to staff and promote a quality-focused culture.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales.
• Maintain technical competence and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform additional quality engineering tasks as needed.
