About the job:

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal QA Engineer/Manager to help establish a world-class QA function across our enterprise systems. This role involves building and leading a QA team, defining QA strategy, selecting test automation frameworks, and ensuring comprehensive test coverage for applications like Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, and other platforms.

This hands-on leadership role includes designing test processes, creating scripts, and guiding quality engineering direction. You will also manage and develop a QA team, requiring at least 3 years of management experience.

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to embed quality practices throughout the development lifecycle, emphasizing scalability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a high-performing QA team, including hiring, mentoring, and setting best practices.
• Manage team performance and support career development.
• Design and implement scalable, reusable test automation frameworks for enterprise applications.
• Create and execute manual and automated test scripts for platforms like Salesforce, NetSuite, and internal systems.
• Select appropriate testing tools and frameworks for automation, performance, and integration testing.
• Work with engineering and product teams to develop effective test strategies based on business requirements.
• Define and manage the QA roadmap, including testing plans, regression testing, and release readiness.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid feedback and confident releases.
• Monitor test metrics, analyze defects, and drive continuous process improvements.
• Establish QA best practices, coding standards, and documentation standards.
• Coordinate with DevOps to maintain test environments and data sets.
• Advise leadership on quality risks and mitigation strategies throughout the SDLC.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging testing technologies, recommending adoption when appropriate.

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in QA, with at least 3 years in a leadership or principal role managing teams and strategy.
• Minimum 3 years of direct management experience with QA engineers or similar roles.
• Deep experience with automation tools like Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or TestCafe, and scripting in Python, JavaScript, or Java.
• Proven ability to select and implement automation frameworks for large-scale enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and version control (Git).
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum, QA methodologies, SDLC, and shift-left testing practices.
• Experience with tools like JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, and managing test documentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with developers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to think strategically while being hands-on in automation and testing activities.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience testing ERP or cloud-based systems (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday).
• Knowledge of performance/load testing tools like JMeter or Gatling.
• Certifications such as ISTQB, Certified Selenium Tester, or similar.
• Experience in startup or greenfield QA environments, building teams or processes from scratch.
