Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Quality Team to strengthen product quality, process integrity and operational excellence.

You will lead quality initiatives, collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales to resolve issues and implement continuous improvements. A strong manufacturing background and ISO9001 familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 10 years of experience in manufacturing.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Familiar with ISO9001 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main quality liaison with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Resolve quality issues, lead corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
• Inspect and verify conformance of raw materials, in-process items, and finished goods.
• Report on quality metrics, non-conformances, and recommend improvements.
• Visit suppliers and customers to assess quality performance and gather feedback.
• Support new supplier onboarding and AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and company standards.
• Deliver training to staff and promote a quality-focused culture.
• Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and sales.
• Maintain technical competence and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform additional quality engineering tasks as needed.
