Job description

The BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems (CMS) site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer, Principal, in support of 2nd Shift. In this role, you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring requirements are met across multiple functional areas of the ACV vehicle platform, including direct oversight of bargaining unit inspectors. This position supports the 2nd shift (2PM-10PM), often working independently to define specific tasks and priorities to support operations quality.

Your role will be responsible for a team of up to three (3) direct reports.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  1. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and six (6) years of related experience (e.g., Quality Assurance, Quality Control), or the equivalent.
  2. Proven management experience overseeing a team of up to three (3) direct reports.
  3. Experience operating within ISO 9001 standards.
  4. Strong background in problem-solving techniques (A3, DMAIC, etc.).
  5. High proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry-related database applications.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
  7. Ability to work and lead independently.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Availability to support on the 2nd shift, 2PM to 10PM. Training will be provided on the day shift.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  1. ASQ Certification preferred.
  2. Experience supporting government contracts, preferably DoD.
  3. Formal training in root cause analysis is preferred.
  4. Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment is preferred.
  5. Certified Weld Inspector qualification or experience is preferred.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $105,254 - $178,931

Please note: This range is based on market pay structures. Salaries depend on factors such as skills, education, experience, and internal considerations.
