The BAE Systems Combat Mission Systems (CMS) site in York, Pennsylvania is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer, Principal, in support of 2nd Shift. In this role as the Operations Quality Engineer, you will develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring requirements are met through multiple functional areas of the ACV vehicle platform including directly overseeing bargaining unit inspectors. As this position supports on the 2nd shift (2PM-10PM), you will often be working independently in defining specific tasks and priorities to support operations quality.

Your role will be responsible for a team of up to three (3) direct reports.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Typically requires a Bachelors in a technical discipline and six (6) years related experience (i.e. Quality Assurance, Quality Control), or the overall equivalent.
  • Proven management experience to oversee a team of up to three (3) direct reports.
  • Experience operating within ISO 9001 standard.
  • Strong background in problem solving techniques (A3, DMAIC, etc).
  • High proficiency with computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and industry related database applications.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical ability.
  • Ability to work and lead independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to support on the 2nd Shift, 2pm to 10pm. Please note that training will take place on the day shift.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • ASQ Certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a quality program in support of government contracts, preferably DoD.
  • Formal training in root cause analysis is preferred.
  • Experience implementing APQP in a low-rate, technically complex product environment is preferred.
  • Certified Weld Inspector qualification or experience

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $105254 - $178931

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
