The role: Principal Protection & Control Engineer

Overview: You’ll define policies and processes aligned with the Engineering strategy, manage project budgets, and drive technical standards. You’ll coordinate design validation, ensure timely delivery, promote a "Right first time" culture, support testing, ensure compliance, manage risks, and lead mentoring and training.

Location: USA

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of Control, Configuration, and FAT engineers to maintain a skilled workforce.
• Set policies, plan resources, and manage budgets aligned with Engineering strategy.
• Develop technical standards and oversee design validation for secondary solutions.
• Deliver work packages on time and budget, fostering a "Right first time" culture and driving programs like T2W and Top+.
• Track performance metrics, improve processes, and manage NCR to reduce rework.
• Work closely with engineering teams and project managers, enforce compliance, and ensure adherence to Health and Safety and technical standards.

What you bring

• A degree/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional managerial experience with extensive experience in the Transmission, Distribution or Renewables Industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal presentation skills
• Solid understanding of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
