Principal Protection and Control Engineer

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Principal Protection and Control Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior position involves technical and project management responsibilities, including client engagement, project execution, resource planning, and technical solutions. The role requires collaboration with various departments and external clients, ensuring project compliance with all standards and policies.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing and growing the Protection and Control team, resource planning, and quality reviews.
• Supporting project development from conceptual design to construction completion.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to develop complete design packages.
• Serving as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, and Technical Lead to support business growth.
• Mentoring junior staff and conducting quality assurance.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in protection schemes, relay and control engineering, and communication systems for utility and industrial facilities.
• Experience in Power Delivery Protection & Relay Control consultancy.
• PE License.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, AcSELerator, WinIGS.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Additional details:

This role may involve up to 20% travel within North America and internationally. The position offers benefits including health insurance, 401K, paid leave, and a salary range of $122,478 - $242,107, dependent on experience and location.
